Recently, ATTA member Garth Jenman, Managing Director of Jenman Safaris, and his operations manager Wayne Powell went off to Zimbabwe to rediscover the area... His report may interest you in thinking of visiting this beautiful country...
"With all the negativity we hear about Zimbabwe I was not sure what to expect before heading up on a fact finding trip at the end of June this year. We were in for a pleasant surprise. Zimbabwe was as magnificent as it always has been and in my opinion has as much to offer as it's neighbouring Southern African countries in many regards, the area is complete with lush vegetation, magnificent wildlife and most of the safari areas and accommodation is still in great condition. We even came across wireless internet at one of the lodges - not that we go to Zimbabwe for this. The police were friendly, the shops are stocked with food and fuel was readily available. I also found that the Zimbabwean people a highlight on this trip - they have to be the nicest and kindest people you will ever meet. After going to all the national parks around Zimbabwe as well as taking in cities like Harare and Bulawayo we at no stage felt threatened or in any danger." -

ZIMBABWES COMRADE'S MARATHON WINNER AT VIC FALLS MARATHON 2009 |

We are happy to announce that Steven Muzhingi from Zimbabwe,
2009 Comrades Marathon Winner, will be at the 2009 Vic Falls Marathon.
With the help of the sponsors and Vic Falls Safari Lodge, Steven is taking a break from his training schedule to come up and help motivate the runners to acheive more in this great sport, and we thank him for this.
Steven is especially keen to help motivate the youth, and will be visiting the local schools while there, and talking to the youth on how sport can help one achieve ones goals in life.
His training schedule does not allow him to enter the main events, but he has promised to "do" the fun run, so if you want to run with a real running legend, come and run the fun run on 23 AUG !!
